1.   Additional Costs Allowance (ACA)

The Additional Costs Allowance (ACA) reimburses Members of Parliament for expenses wholly, exclusively and necessarily incurred when staying overnight away from their main UK residence for the purpose of performing Parliamentary duties. This excludes expenses that have been incurred for purely personal or political purposes.

2.   Incidental Expenses Provision (IEP)

 The Incidental Expenses Provision (IEP) is available to meet costs incurred on Members’ Parliamentary duties. It cannot be used to meet personal costs, or the costs of party political activities or campaigning. It can be used for to pay for office supplies and office and surgery accommodation, for example.

The Communications Allowance provides funds to allow Members of Parliament to communicate proactively with their constituents and inform them about the Parliamentary duties that have been undertaken, examples include: questionnaires, surveys and websites.
